Interns learn to live off of freebies. It’s a necessity. You aren’t getting paid, you might as well drink all the free Coke you can, steal sugar packets, whatever.

The lucky few get the occasional free lunch, coffee, leftover pizza. Most of us are stuck hauling sad little sandwiches that make the lunch your mom packed for you in 1st grade look/taste like a $200, 5-star gourmet sandwich. The lunch of an intern can be pretty pathetic. How pathetic?

Question: Where do you turn when you get hooked on free lunches but the boss is out of town?

Answer: The pretzel jar.

-Suck at your job

-Contribute to the economic collapse of an entire nation

-Be hated by everyone you know while doing “business” on your gold-rimmed throne (a la former Merrill Lynch CEO Jon Thain)

-Make stupid amounts of money. Recessions are tough on everyone. Except you! Keep them bonuses a’comin’!
