This is the time of year incoming college freshmen, sophomores — just college students in general — are shuffling their feet, contorting their faces with a wince: “Ah, eh, um, oh, eee! Please don’t make me pick a major!”
It’s a big decision. Subject to change.
As a high school senior, I knew I would study psychology and go straight to grad school for a lifetime of academia. As a college senior, I scurried to add a journalism major, ‘cos y’know — that career is so lucrative these days.
Point being, in a recession as deep and broad as this, it’s maybe time to check out a major that can yield more. PayScale released the above list of the highest paying degrees. It’s worth a glance…and also worth noting that the figures are based on graduates with 2 years of experience. Guess where that experience comes from? Internships!
